The fireplace and the furniture are wood, the floor is concrete, and the kitchen appliances are metal.

I was going to copy and paste my little tutorial on editing but I squashed that idea when I got to your design! Great job on your work. I noticed the concrete and the metal in your design but the wood is kind of lacking. The lounge area would have been a great with a wood clad wall. Overall, I do like your layout.

It LOOKS really, really, nice, but it is a bad use of space. The dining table is right next to the door, there is nowhere to sit to take off your shoes, nowhere to hang up your coats and hats, and nowhere to put your shoes. The ladder next to the door is not necessary, and the room looks like it needs a little more color. The best way to fix the color problem is to give the walls a little color. I hope you are not hurt by my feedback, because I know, feedback hurts. I am not trying to be mean or rude, though it may seem like it. All I want to do is help you fix your problems and help you do better next time. Please check out my project, and be completely honest with me. I want to see what I can do better in the future. Thank you! :-)

Thank you so much! There are couches if someone wants to take of their shoes, and I don't think there were any hooks in the items included for the contest design. The colors might be plain, because it's a modern design. But I can try to use your suggestions in the next one!
