I like the idea of separation, but there is a little bit to much brick, I would do just the ceiling and simple for the rest in your design, and it will be perfect

your room is very different then all the other ones i have checked out. but i like it it gives the feeling that there are two rooms in the one room because there is. the one thing i do not like is the lights next to the fireplace because i feel like that defeats the purpose of the room because it is really a small room to sit next to the fireplace and talk and the lights really only destroy the whole vibe coming from the room within the room.

Hi Gen. Overall it is a design that I like. You gambled splitting the room in two different zones, still connected to each other by a small aisle. The smaller one it seems a snugg place where to spent some time reading a book or just enjoing the fireplace. The bigger one looks like a more sociable space, where you can invite friends. The color scheme and the choice of materials link the two zones, giving a sense of continuinity. This room is warm and welcoming. There are just two things that I would change. The beams on the cealing are in impediment to have a better view of the room and the brick feature on the wall in the bigger zone. It should be lower. However, as I said, I like it.
