Forum / FAQ / How to create a separate wall/Drawing a wall

Hey guys,

there is no a comprehensive option to Draw a wall or to drag a separate wall to the layout.
You are able to drag and drop different shapes of Rooms from the Rooms library straight to your layout.
The option for creating separate walls:
- Drag a whole Room, hide 3 walls and leave one to stay
- You can connect all point to a one single line
- Create a separate wall using Magic cube item (find the last one option in Rooms section)
For the magic cube item: any doors or windows will not snap to magic cube, so in case you want to insert doors and windows to the wall, created with magic cube - it will not work, use the first option, though.

In the picture I included, I am planning on how to renovate a basement into a stand alone apartment, just to get some ideas when I talk to the contractor. The very bottom version is the original space, and I created two separate rooms to look at different options. It would be nice If I could just save the original room, then load it and "Save as" option one. Once I'm done with option one, start with the original again and "Save as" option two, etc. This would mean that they are saved as different options instead of having separate rooms next to each other.

Thank You for the explanation.

"Saves as" options does exist, however, it does not work the way You described.

Interesting option to implement, though.

I will discuss it with developers.

If you make a room and squish the walls together it becomes one wall. Pretty simple.

Of course.

I agree about not being able to add or remove a wall. Just putting basic room shapes together doesn't allow for a two story room to flow into a one story room e.g. two story living room flowing into a kitchen. Also, the second floor "floats" above the first floor. What's the point?

Feature will be implemented in due time.

In a way it is possible, just requires some additional effort.

Trust me, it does not take too much time.

Besides, overcoming a small challenge always brings pleasure ; D

I want my money back. What kind of Home design program doesn’t let you add or remove a wall

Hmm, interesting claim, must say )))

Before purchasing a catalog, You could use the demo version and get the basic "know how".

Besides, a custom wall CAN be created, as described.

-also I’d like to see the ability to add an opening....not an arch, not a door, but an opening as well as a cased opening.
