«It’s really quick and easy to learn, and it’s a straightforward app in general.»
It’s time to go behind the scenes of some of Planner 5D’s prolific users. Jessica Lopez’s
Instagram feed offers endless renders of tasteful and imaginative interiors. That’s why we got in touch to find out what she uses Planner 5D for and how she learns its new features.
What do you use Planner 5D for? Is it just for entertainment, or do you use it in your work?
I use Planner 5D for both. During the pandemic, it really helped me to deal with the 2-month confinement.
Have you participated in our Design Battles? If yes, which was your favorite contest?
I have participated, but not every week. I liked the yellow kitchen design challenge.
What is the wildest thing you have created with Planner 5D?
A giant brown house with unrealistic measurements, inside, I made stairs. In fact, to date, I think it’s the highest-voted HD picture, but I’m not sure! I decided to make a floor of twenty square meters in another design and challenged myself to design it.
What is your favorite room to design?
Without a doubt, kitchens.
How do you learn new features of the app?
I learn the new features without a manual - I’m self-taught. But if someone needs help, the app has a school
with questions and answers. It’s really easy and quick to learn, and it’s a straightforward app in general.
Which mode for the floorplan do you like more: 2D or 3D?
I like both modes: the first to plan and the second to refine, without a doubt.
Do you have any advice for a new user to get the most out of Planner 5D?
Well, watch tutorials and videos, and have fun designing. It’s good to watch them regularly to learn and design better.
Where do you get your inspiration for designs from?
From many places, but in general, I pay more attention to designs from Northern Europe and Russia. Mediterranean décor from my own country doesn’t inspire me much.

In the meantime, here are some of the ways you can use Planner 5D:
- Plan your renovation, or just relax with it.
- Try using the 2D view for planning an interior, and 3D to refine it.
- Teach yourself, try out our Online Interior Design School, or use online tutorials.
